The Time By Juan Farías Álvarez
Juan Farías Álvarez is a Mexican writer. Born Saturday, October 28, 1972, at 7:30 p.m. at home situated in Cotija de la Paz, Michoacán, México. Victoria Farías nickname “La parera” a close friend of his mother assigned in the delivery of Juan to this world by cutting the umbilical cord with ordinary house scissors. Juan was born with yellow skin which meant that he had anemia and he almost died, but his older sister took him to the hospital “El Hospital Civil de los Niños” in Zamora, Michoacán, México. After being treated for a few days he got healthier. According to his family, Juan was a calm child who made face gestures and noises to make everybody laugh. Juan became a resident of the United States at the age of two. He lived throughout many cities in California: Merced, Woodland, Madison and Esparto. Juan’s best memory is of his beautiful smile at the age of six with his decayed front baby teeth.
One October afternoon, Juan thought about writing thirty-eight poems to his family. Juan enjoys writing all kinds of poems. He always carries a piece of paper and a pen, as he says, “Inspiration appears when I least expect it. There is no time or place for it.” Juan is always prepared for it. Juan published his first book in Spanish titled Milagro. Also his book in English titled Miracle. The Time is his second book in English which he also has in Spanish titled El tiempo.
This book was created with hours of bitterness, imagination, tears, nostalgia, affection, admiration and fantasy. Painted and tinted with ink on a paper from different time frames. Thank you, dear reader, for your support in this present time.
