About Book
“With her extensive experience in public schools, Angelina Sáenz presents "Maestra," a captivating collection of poems. Her work beautifully explores the complexities of classrooms, embracing hope, despair, resilience, and joy. Through poetic expressions, she delves into the vulnerability of children, the struggles faced by working-class and immigrant parents, the dedication of teachers, and the flaws within bureaucratic systems. Sáenz's poems evoke a wide range of emotions, from anger to amusement, providing an authentic glimpse into the realities of today's public school landscape.
