Crear Studio in Downtown Santa Ana
What We Leave/ What We Take: Rebecca Gonzales
Crear Studio featured artist Rebecca Gonzales, a multimedia artist, poet, book binder, and mother from East Los Angeles. Inspired by the trauma work of Bessel van der Kolk in The Body Keeps the Sore and Resmaa Menakem's My Grandmother's Hands, Rebecca created a site-specific paper installation. The exhibition installation asks, "what is it?" and "where did you put it?" We experience love and pain in out body, we hold history in our body, secrets and memories and joys in our body.
